Drainage and other technical considerations

Drainage

Following a review of the Environment Agency flood risk for planning map, the entire site is identified as being located within Flood Zone 1, an area with the lowest probability of flooding, as is much of the surrounding area.

Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS) features will be incorporated into the site to ensure that surface water run-off is appropriately managed. This will also ensure that the water quality of run-off is improved.

Flows from impervious areas across the site will be collected, attenuated and discharged by infiltration via four deep borehole soakaways into the permeable Coombe Down Oolite layer that underlays the quarry floor.

A Drainage Strategy Plan has been prepared which forms part of the planning application.
